This was a mug that I decided to test out a new carving tool on, got carried away and ended up making a sun and mountain design. Then instead of glazing it section by section, I decided it would be the perfect vessel to test out a new glaze combo with the light blue and the purple on the outside and a deep plum purple on the. inside. The results are beautiful for the coloring, but the carved design got mostly washed away by the glaze. :-P I hope someone can look past this piece’s imperfections and give it a new home and a second chance at love.
*The piece had a small spot of glaze that had dripped in the kiln, so I sanded it smooth (see photos). Tiny cosmetic crack on the handle where it meets the mug but it is sturdy and not affected by it.
