This is a berry bowl that has some defects. Please read this carefully to determine if it is the right fit for you. :)
This bowl has some… interesting… textures going on, haha! As I was playing with the initial design after I built this bowl, I decided to plug up some holes. As I found out after the firing, it was too late in the “building” process to have added modifications, and the clay wasn’t happy about it. The glaze didn’t uniformly stick to the alterations, so this bowl’s center looks quite patchy. A little piece of clay flaked off inside the kiln somehow which created a “chip” on the center (see photos), but because it was inside the kiln when it happened, the glaze did cover over it so it does not appear to be raw clay exposed.
The glaze did run down the feet of the bowl on the underside, but I dremeled that down smooth (see photos) so although it looks bubbly, it is smooth to the touch.
Shockingly, despite the visual defects on this piece, she works like a beauty when tested with blueberries, blackberries and even small strawberries! The massive strawberries were too big for this one, but the smaller ones did work.
Please reference photos and let me know if you have any questions! Thank you!!
